A Legacy of Community Spirit
In a world of fast-moving trends, there is something deeply comforting about a family-run store that has stood the test of time. For over 30 years, Norsco Sports and What’s The Occasion have been the beating heart of Palmerston’s retail community. Owned and operated by the husband-and-wife team of Scott and Trish, along with their children, this local landmark is far more than just a shop; it is a living piece of town history.
Three Decades of Growth and Giving Back
The journey began in October 1989 when Norsco Sports first opened its doors, moving to its current home in 1995. Just a year later, “What’s The Occasion” was born, blooming into a unique candle and gift shop all under one roof.
While they are experts in their craft from Scott’s favorite service, custom embroidery, to the home décor section that Trish loves, their true specialty is the community itself. Trish isn’t just a business owner; she is one of Palmerston’s fiercest advocates. As a dedicated member of All Aboard Palmerston and the Palmerston Homecoming Committee, she has been an instrumental player in the downtown events we all love, including the magic of the Kris Kringle Market. When you shop here, you are supporting a family that spends their “off-hours” building the very spirit of our town.

Why Your Support Matters Now
Scott and Trish have served Palmerston and the surrounding areas for over 30 years, seeing our town through countless changes. Keeping our local businesses in mind and continuing to shop at Norsco and What’s The Occasion during these next two construction seasons is a way to honour the decades of service they’ve given to our local teams, families, and downtown festivals.
Every custom jersey ordered or gift purchased helps ensure that this local legacy continues for many years to come. Stop by, browse their wide selection, and help us keep our downtown spirit alive while the roads get their much-needed upgrade.
