Public Notice – Road Construction in Palmerston

Updated: Apr 21, 2026

The County of Wellington and the Town of Minto wish to advise the public that construction activities are currently underway on Main Street East in Palmerston from Toronto Street to York Street and temporary traffic restrictions are in place to safely accommodate the work.

During the upcoming construction stages, traffic will be maintained through the site. However, the roadway will be reduced at times to a single controlled lane with a maximum width of 4.0 metres.

Due to the reduced lane width and site constraints, wide loads, oversized vehicles, and some farm equipment may not be able to be safely accommodated through the construction zone. Operators of such vehicles are advised to plan alternate routes where possible and use caution when approaching the work area.

Motorists should expect minor delays and are reminded to obey all posted signage and directions from traffic control personnel. Entry into the active construction zone outside of designated traffic control is strictly prohibited.

The County and Town thank all residents, businesses, and visitors for their patience and cooperation during this important infrastructure project.
For ongoing updates, please refer to the project website or social media channels.
